every part is welcome here

Insight is not enough.
Healing happens when we access
Self-connection &
Self-compassion.
My primary therapeutic modality is Internal Family Systems (IFS), developed by Richard C. Schwartz, PhD. A powerfully transformative, non-pathologizing and evidence-based psychospiritual model, IFS is based on what many cultures have known for a very long time — that the mind is naturally multiplicitous and that our inner world is a system in and of itself, like an inner family.
Overwhelming experiences of trauma, no matter how small, can freeze aspects of our consciousness in time, where they remain, inaccessible to the expanse of our full life experience, operating from pain and isolation. Every human has these wounded aspects of consciousness, or “parts” that have been burdened, along with a core Self that can’t be damaged and knows how to heal. All parts are seen as having an intelligent role to play and contain valuable gifts and essential protections.
As we befriend our own parts and access the healing power of Self, we gently bring resource to these vulnerable parts of ourselves, releasing guilt, self-judgement, shame and fear, and allowing the parts to let go of their burdens. (This is known in many nature-based cultures throughout history as a journey of shamanic healing and soul retrieval.)
In the process, we may discover that many of the burdens and gifts that our parts carry are not just ours — they’re echoes of collective trauma and oppression, cultural amnesia, and ancestral silence. And yet, they also carry seeds of renewal.
The stories of our ancestors are part of who we are today. The past is not behind us; it’s alive in us now, moment to moment. Intergenerational trauma has been verified and validated by the field of epigenetics — our bodies store the residues of what gets passed down from one generation to the next. Traumatic historical and collective events, such as wars, the Holocaust, slavery, the genocide of Native Americans, the loss of homeland through the immigrant experience, the Depression, and many others, are carried across generations.
Together, we listen. We slow down. We invite not just insight, but transformation—through ritual, deep inner work, and a remembrance that you are not alone in this journey.
When we transform transgenerational trauma, we can open to the support and blessings of our trusted, healed ancestors and embody wholeness and renewal for the next generations.
